CLAY MEDITATION

Our hands want to touch, explore and discover. Our bodies want to feel, embody and breathe. Our minds want to rest after hours of working hard. This session creates moments for these missing experiences. The tactile Clay Meditation is a conscious process with clay, engaging the hands through tactility, gesture and intuition. Meanwhile the mind can relax and arrive at the same place with the body. Through mindful slow motion gestures and tactile qualities of the clay new information from the hands are sent to the brain. It's a calming as well as insightful process, letting you immerse in a journey that relaxes your nervous system and activates new energy and inspiration.

This 1-hour Clay Meditation is split into 4 parts:

  • Shifting Focus: Direct your attention to the organic material and your body.

  • Trusting Hands: Learn to trust your hands and connect with your intuition.

  • Expressing Inner Worlds: Craft unique clay objects as a form of self-expression.

  • Letting Go: Release any attachment to the outcome, embracing the beauty of surrender.

FAQs

Do I need any experience? - This session welcomes beginners and advanced meditation students and ceramic makers. No experience or skills are required. In our opinion, everyone is an artist and everyone is creative. We tend to forget how to activate our creative process and this is what we want to help you with.

What shall I wear? - **We will be sitting on the ground, so please wear comfortable clothing. You will be provided with an apron for the session.

Will I be able to take the ceramics home with me? - This clay meditation celebrates the process rather than a physical outcome. Everything created will be let go of in the end.
